Custom wooden signs are crafted of 2" Clear Western Red Cedar. Cedar is a very stable wood which seasons quickly and easily, and with a low shrinkage factor. It is regarded as one of Canada's most durable wood species. Wood biscuits are used in the laminating process to strengthen the sign. During the drying stage of the two-part epoxy glue, the laminated board is secured and leveled using a vise. This process ensures that the sign is durable and creates an excellent surface for carving and sandblasting. SignFoam is also used in a wide range of applications. It is a lightweight, high-density polyurethane board possessing remarkable strength and durability. After signs are carved and/or sandblasted they are ready to be primed. Each sign will be primed at least twice using a sealer/stainblock, and then a minimum of two coats of the chosen colour will be applied. Lettering, borders and all other individual colours will be applied in two coats using the finest quality oil-based, lettering enamel. Genuine 23-karat gold leaf will never tarnish, nor fade, and when the sun hits it - the sign sparkles like no other.
